After losing a wealth of experienced and consistent players off last season’s team, Western Carolina desperately needed some newcomers to develop quickly this winter.
Enter Trey Sumler.
A former walk-on, the redshirt freshman came off the bench to score 16 points in his first game – the season-opening loss to Clemson. But he truly began to find his rhythm in the past two weeks as he’s set a new career-high in each of the Catamounts’ last three games.
Sumler and the Cats (6-10, 2-2) will look to build on their two-game winning streak when they host Elon (8-8, 2-3) at 7:00 tonight.
