Asheville, NC - The Catamounts won their first round tournament game after being down by 5 at the half. The Cats came back to tie the score at the end of regulation. They then out scored the Eagles 16-11 in overtime to capture a first round win over the Georgia Southern Eagles 62-56 in Asheville. Campbell led all scores with 18 points, followed by Menendez with 12.
"I felt like we were a little rushed early. We didn't have our composure, committing 15 turnovers," said head coach Karen Middleton. "We just had to take a deep breath, so that's what we talked about in the locker room; be composed and play within ourselves." This was the second overtime game with the Eagles, whi came out on top in the earlier meeting, 41-40, in Statesboro.
