Baseball: Cats drop third straight to UNC-A
Asheville, NC - Western Carolina dropped their third straight game to the Asheville Bulldogs Wednesday evening at McCormick Field in Asheville. In the extra innings game, Cody Jones broke the 11-inning scoreless drought by both teams, hitting a solo home run over the right center field fence to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead. But, a Catamount fielding error prevented the Cats from getting the third out in the bottom of the 12th, and allowed Asheville to stay alive, despite being down to their last out and final strike in the 12th inning Patrick Koontz then hit a walk-off, three-run home run over the right field fence to seal the 3-1 victory for the Bulldogs.
