The Series: The Cats own a 29-22 record overall against the Keydets, and are 28-21 in conference play. In games played in Cullowhee, the Cats are 16-9 against the Keydets. Going back to last season, the Cats are coming off a double overtime loss to the Keydets last February in Cullowhee by a final score of 113-111. The two teams split last season, each winning on the road.
Game Notes: Western Carolina - VMI
On Saturday, the VMI Keydets travel to Cullowhee as part of the Cats four game home stand. VMI brings a 5-8 overall record into the Ramsey Center, and the Keydets are 1-5 on the road this season. VMI dropped it's first two conference games, losing to Furman (57-85) on the road, and then to Wofford on Tuesday night (61-65),
The Keydets are averaging 68.8 points per game this season, hitting 41.8% field goals, and 75% from the free throw line. However, the Keydets are giving up 71.2 ppg. Junior guard QJ Peterson (6-0, 185) leades VMI scoring with 19,2 ppg, followed by junior guard Julian Eleby (6-3, 190)
with 14.8 ppg.
