Basketball: Point Guard Rhett Harrelson committs to WCU

Enterprise, Alabama senior point guard Rhett Harrelson, verbally committed to Western Carolina earlier this week. Harrelson is a a two-time Dothan Eagle Super 12 and two-time Class 6A all-state honorable mention honoree.  He has scored 1,844 career points through his junior season. Currently, Rhett has scholarship offers from Jacksonville State, Alabama State, Alabama at Hunstville, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech and Southern University, as well as offers to walk-on at SEC schools Alabama and Georgia. Other SoCon schools showing interest in Harrelson  is Wofford, Tennessee-Chattanooga and College of Charleston.

“They were the first Division-I school to offer me and I immediately fell in love with the coaches,” Harrelson said of Western Carolina. “They are really good guys. I went up there to their Elite Camp in June and I loved the place and I loved their facilities. It seemed like the right place to go.”

A three-sport letterman, Harrelson is the starting quarterback for Enterprise’s football team and a member of the golf team.
