The Mercer men's basketball team earned its first win away from home against Robert Morris, 72-66, in the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic in Savannah, Georgia on Friday, November 25. The Bears led for over 39 minutes in a gritty win. "It's a positive that we learned how to close out a game," head coach Greg Gary said. "We just have to keep improving and paying attention to details, carrying out our assignments." Kamar Robertson led the team with 17 points, going 6-for-9 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. This was Robertson's fifth game in double figures, and he recorded a season-high seven rebounds. Six of these came in the final minute as Robert Morris searched for a path back into the game. This landed him at 13 points along with four assists and four rebounds. "That's how you win these close games: you hit your free throws and get some stops," Gary explained. "He [Hurtado Jr.] did a great job in hitting his free throws."
