A recap of Friday's games:

Milligan 64 - Mercer 118     With 118 points, the Mercer men's basketball team set a new program record for points scored in a single game on Friday night against Milligan at Hawkins Arena. The final score was 118-64, securing the first win of the regular season for the Bears. It was the first time the Bears won by at least 50 points since December 28, 2019, also against Milligan. Less than three minutes into the first half, the Bears took the lead and never relinquished control. Head coach Greg Gary utilized his bench early, and the substitutes produced 45 points. All 12 players who logged minutes scored, and five players scored in double figures. It was the first time since February 8, 2021 against Samford that Mercer had five double-digit scorers.

Bellmont 74 - Furman 89     Fifth-year senior Mike Bothwell poured in 25 points and fellow fifth-year Jalen Slawson added 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Furman to an 89-74 victory over Belmont in a battle of mid-major powers Friday evening at Timmons Arena. The Paladins (2-0) led 52-50 with under 10:30 to play when Carter Whitt drained a three to ignite a decisive 17-6 Furman run that upped the margin to 13 at 69-56.

UNCG 65 - Miami 79     Mikeal Brown-Jones came off the bench to lead the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team with 13 points as the Spartans dropped a Friday evening contest with Miami, 79-65, at Watsco Center. Brown-Jones shot six-for-eleven from the field and posted four rebounds. Kennedy posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Leyte added 12 points on five-for-nine shooting and added four rebounds. Dante Treacy added eleven points and three assists.

Elon 64 - ETSU 77     The Buccaneers took the lead early and never trailed as ETSU men’s basketball enjoyed a 77-64 wire-to-wire win over Elon on Friday night in the Asheville Championship inside Harrah’s Cherokee Center. With the win, ETSU moved to 2-0 on the young season, while Elon dipped to 1-1. The Bucs have now won four of the five games in the all-time series over the Phoenix. ETSU shot just under 50 percent for the contest (49.2) as the Bucs were 29-of-59 from the field and went 7-for-18 from long distance. For the second straight game, the Blue and Gold won the battle of the boards as ETSU was plus-5, 33 to 28. ETSU to face Louisiana in title game of Asheville Championship Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
