Cullowhee, N.C. - The Cats defeated UNC-Asheville, 3-1, Wednesday night to win their first home match of the season.
"Paige [McConlogue] really stepped it up tonight, filling the libero role," said head volleyball coach Karen Glover. "It was really a team effort offensively and defensively. Caitlin Piechota really stood out and got us kills when we needed them."
The Cats play their final non-conference tournament in the Spartan Classic, hosted by USC Upstate. Western Carolina opens the tournament facing Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
