Cincinnati, Ohio - Despite being outshot by the Bearcats, 22-8, Western Carolina took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, after the match was scoreless at halftime. But with just under 17 minutes left in the match, the Bearcats found an opening and scored to tie the match. The match remained tied at the end of regulation play and the overtime periods.
"I am proud of our effort tonight as we continue to learn and grow and thought we played with a lot of fight and energy," said Head Coach Chad Miller. "I thought goalkeeper Katie Jacobs was very solid for us at the net."
