Cullowhee, N.C. - Catamount soccer (4-1-1) played its second consecutive shutout, and recorded a 4-0 win over visiting Winthrop (2-4) Sunday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
The Catamounts have now won four out of its last five matches, and remains unbeaten at home in this season. The Cats took a season-high 16 shots in the match and only allowed Winthrop four shots, three of those in the second half. The shutout was the second of the year by Catamount goalie Katie Jacobs.
Next up for the Cats is a trip to Wilmington, NC on September 16 to participate in the UNC Wilmington Tournament. WCU will face Richmond at 5 p.m. Friday and then host UNC-W Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
