WCU Baseball: Kennesaw State





Kennesaw State visits Cullowhee on Wednesday for the first game of a home and home series this season. The Owls are coming off a series win at UAB and are 7-4 overall.

The Series: The Cats are 12-8 overall vs. the Owls, but have lost the last four games to KSU (two in Kennesaw, 1 in Cullowhee, 1 neutral field). The series started in 2006 and was last played in Feb. 2020 in Conway, SC after skipping 2019. 

The Owls come to Cullowhee for the front game of a home and home series, off a loss to UAB, but having won the first two games of that series. The Owls do have a 6-4 win over the then #6 Georgia Bulldogs. 

The Owls were picked 7th in the 9 team ASun preseason poll, with two players named to the all-conference team, 1B - Justin Russell, & OF - Terence Norman.  Center fielder for the Kennesaw State baseball team Alex Carballo capped a week to remember by being named the ASUN Player of the Week. . The Owls won three total games while Carballo hit for .357 average, a .500 on-base percentage and a .643 slugging percentage in the four games this week.
