SoCon Basketball - Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017


There was 6 out of conference games scheduled for the first Saturday in December, and SoCon teams came out 3-3 on the day.  





UNCG 76 - Liberty 75

Francis Alonso scored a career-high 36 points and hit the game-winner with 2.4 seconds left in the third overtime as UNC Greensboro beat Liberty 76-75 on Saturday.

Radford 63 - VMI 50

Radford's Ed Polite Jr. had 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Devonnte Holland added 10 points and eight boards, as Radford beat VMI 63-50 on Saturday.

UMBC 98 - The Citadel 72

Maryland-Baltimore County rolled over The Citadel 98-72 as the Receiver's K.J. Maura scored 21 points with seven assists and six rebounds, leading six other UMBC players in double-figure scoring on Saturday afternoon in Charleston.

Tennessee Tech 50 - Furman 64

The Paladin's John Davis III scored 16 points, while Daniel Fowler added 12, as Furman beat Tennessee Tech 64-50 on Saturday, ending the Golden Eagles six-game win streak.

Mercer 81 - Memphis 83

With time running out in the second overtime, the  Tiger's Jeremiah Martin drove to the basket, drawing a foul, then made both free throws as Memphis eked past Mercer 83-81 on Saturday in a heartbreaker for the Bears.

Tennessee-Martin 63 - Chattanooga 66

The Moc's Makale Foreman hit a late 3-pointer, then made four free throws down the stretch holding off UTM, to give Chattanooga a 66-63 win over the Skyhawks on Saturday.
