Purple & Gold's Catamount Player of the Game for the Gardner-Webb game is redshirt freshman quarterback Tyrie Adams.
Adams guided the Catamounts to 690 yards of total offense including career-highs of 427 yards through the air and five touchdowns. He also picked up 83 yards on the ground.
Western Carolina had 690 yards of total offense against the Runnin' Bulldogs, just 21 yards shy of tying the school record set in 1969 against Emory and Henry. However, Adams and the offensive unit established a new school benchmark for first downs, moving the chains a now school-record 34 times against Gardner-Webb ... the previous mark was 32 established vs. Liberty back in 2001 (W, 63-0);
Purple & Gold congratulates Tyrie Adams on his selection of WCU Player of the Game.
