On Thursday, the Catamounts, (7-8, 2-1 SoCon) travel to Chattanooga (9-7,2-1) as the two teams currently tied for fourth place in the SoCon meet.
The Cats have a dismal 22-60 overall record with Chattanooga, and a even more dismal record of games played against the Mocs in Chattanooga, 3-33. The Cats last won in Chattanooga in January 2013. Currently the Cats are on a three game losing streak against Chattanooga, but are 2-3 in the last five games played between the two teams.
Picked second in the preseason SoCon poll, the Mocs are currently 9-7 overall and come into Thurday's game 3-1 in their last four games played, with wins over UAB, Lipscomb, and Furman, and a four point loss to Wofford, in Chattanooga on Monday night.
The Mocs are in forth place in the SoCon in scoring offense at 72.0 points, behind VMI, ETSU and Western. The Mocs are also in fourth place in scoring defense, giving up 66.2 points per game. The Cats and Mocs are neck and nexk in field goal percentages, at 45.1% and 42..2% respectively.
Chattanooga has three players averaging double digit scoring, with Casey Jones leading the way with 13.4 points per game, followed by Greg Pryor at 11.8, and Ronrico White with 10.4 points. Just under the thrushold, is Justin Tuoyo with 9.7 ppg.
