Michaela Kissell-Eddins named women's Tennis Coach


Michaela Kissell-Eddins, one of the top collegiate players in the country from 2007-11,was named the head tennis coach at Western Carolina today by Athletic Director Randy Eaton,  effective immediately.

Kissell-Eddins spent the past season at Pitt as the interim head coach for Pitt in 2012-13. The Panthers went 10-12 overall and 1-3 in Big East conference play.

She lead Pitt to their first win over Rutgers, and her team's four match win streak was the longest winning streak since the 2007-08 season. In postseason play, the Panthers reached the quarterfinals in the Big East Tournament for the first time in program history.

Kissell-Eddins finished with a combined singles and doubles record of 110-41 for the Marshall Herd as a collegate player, which ranks her fourth in career-winning percentage (.733). Kissell-Eddins played No. 1 in both singles and doubled at Marshall, and made the NCAA Tournament as a junior and a senior in both singles and doubles.
