83 Days 'till Kickoff - #83 Ian Berryman

It's now 83 days until the kickoff of Catamount football on September 2, 2017, in Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii - home of the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.

To help pass those long summer days until football season starts, and hopefully get the Catamount faithful more excited about the upcoming season, we'll continue the 100-day football countdown each day until kickoff.

Today we'll highlight a punter....

2015 (Redshirt Freshman): Saw action in all 11 games for the Catamounts as the starting punter ... Punted 58 times for 2,534 yards, averaging 43.7 yards per kick -- the second-best average in the SoCon and eighth nationally ... Booted 14 punts of 50-or-more yards ... Downed 22 of his 58 kicks inside the opponent 20-yard line with just five touchbacks ... First career punt came against Mars Hill (Sept. 5), punting five times in the game with all five downed inside the Lions' 20-yard line ... Punted a career-high 10 times at Tennessee (Sept. 19) ... Crested 60-yards on punts three-times including a career-long boot of 65 yards against Samford (Oct. 24) ... Named first team All-Southern Conference by the league's head coaches and second team All-SoCon by the voting media ... Was also selected to the SoCon All-Freshman team ... Was a national finalist for the STATS FCS Freshman of the Year ... Was a second team All-America selection by College Sports Madness ... Listed on the College Sporting News "Fabulous FIfty" All-America squad as a punter ... Named to the 2015-16 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

2014 (Freshman): Redshirted.

Prior to Western Carolina: Though he played predominantly at the punter position, also has experience as a wide receiver and quarterback as a prep ... Was a first team all-region selection as a punter as a senior, also earning second team all-state plaudits from the Cedrick Oglesby Kicking Academy ... Ranked fourth on Kornblue Kicking's Fab Top 50 Punters rankings ... Also played soccer as a prep for a ranked Fellowship Christian boys program. Personal: Intends to major in athletic training.
