Head Coach Larry Hunter announced the early signing of two students for the 2016-17 incoming basketball class. Onno Steger (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and Adam Sledd (Roanoke, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Catamounts.
"We are extremely excited about the two young men we have signed. Onno Steger and Adam Sledd are both very good players and even better people and competitors. They will fill needs we presently determined we have. We wanted to continue to evaluate our team over the next few months to accurately determine other needs we may have to address with a spring signee or two.” said Hunter

Position: Small Forward
Hometown: Upper Arlington, Ohio
High School: Upper Arlington HS
Height: 6-5
Class: HS Senior
“Onno is a big wing who brings a skill set that will allow him to play multiple positions in our program,” said Hunter. “His motor and energy reminds me a lot of Coach Brigham Waginger and/or current senior Justin Browning as a player. He is an extremely hard worker who is passionate about the game and winning. He has been a leader and impact player on his team for several years. He is the type of player that will impact the game as a scorer, defender, rebounder and passer. He just has a good feel for playing the game. He shoots the three ball very well but also will get to the foul line attacking the basket.”

“Adam is one of the more talented big men we have brought into the program in recent years,” said Hunter. “He is a very talented player and winner who will only get better. He has good size, athleticism, and strength which enables him to be effective around the basket. He has very good quickness and footwork combined with a good shooting motion and soft touch around the basket. He is well coached and has a versatile skill set. He impressed us not only with his offensive skills but with his consistent desire to play defense and rebound the basketball. One comment I heard from a fellow coach about Adam which stuck with me is that Adam ‘is a workhorse who loves to do the little things like setting screens, rebounding and playing defense that others sometimes do not like to do.’ Similar to Onno, he also has a very good motor and feel for the game.”
