"Mountains vs. Beaches"

Western Carolina and mountain-rival Appalachian State will join forces to defend the Western part of the state as they compete in the "Mountains vs. Beaches" meet in Boone, N.C., against the team of UNC Wilmington and East Carolina.

It is the fifth-year of the East-vs.-West scored event with the Beaches halting the Mountain schools' four-year win
streak by taking last season's meet on both the men's and women's side in Wilmington, so it's 4-1 Mountains.
