Trey Sumler scores 40 in win over Milligan
Redshirt senior Trey Sumler scored a career-high 40 points in Western Carolina's 106-72 victory over the Milligan Buffaloes in the Ramsey Center on Monday night.
Sumler was 7 of 10 from 3-point range, while hitting 13 of 21 shots from the field. He hit 7 of 8 from the free-throw line, and picked up 7 rebounds, while making 3 assists, and one steal on his way to become the first Catamount since Kevin Martin in 2004 to duplicate that feat.
Mike Woods, Jr. led Milligan with 14 points.
Purple & Gold congratulates both the Catamounts on their win, and Trey his career high scoring night.
