Western Carolina's Tayla Carter was named Southern Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Month.
Carter won three races, with victories in the 55m (6.99) and the 300m (40.17) at the Appalachian Invitational.
On Jan. 1 at the Niswonger Invitational, she won the 60m (7.54).
At the McCravy Memorial, Carter tied a seven-year old school record in the 60m, running a 7.48 to match s record that has stood since 2006.
On Jan. 11, Carter placed third in the 60m at the Tiger Challenge. The conference leader in the 60m was also named the SoCon's track athlete of the week on Jan. 24.
