Troy Mitchell will start against Mars Hill

Eddie Sullivan has lost the starting quarterback job for the first game of the season after violating team rules. “It wasn’t a major, major deal,” head coach Mark Speir said. “But it was major enough for us to decide that he won’t start.”

True freshman Troy Mitchell will be under center to start the season for the Catamounts in the opening game. Thursday at 8 pm in Cullowhee. The 6-foot, 200-pound dual threat quarterback from Mobile, Alabama has battled Sullivan during the fall practice for the starting position.
