Baseball: Winthrop slams the Cats

Cullowhee, NC - Winthrop pounded a season-high 20 hits to humble the Catamounts in a 11-5 defeat Tuesday evening at Childress Field.

Winthrop is currently in tenth place in Big South standings, and is 16-33 on the season.  Against the Cats, Winthrop belted out the most hits in a single game in head coach Tom Riginos tenure at Winthrop. The Eagles were able to take advantage of 17 singles resulting in 11 runs for their first-time ever win in Cullowhee.
