12 Days until Catamount Football Kickoff - Ken Moore Jr. & Brody Palhegyi




It's now 12 days until the kickoff of Catamount football on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock, AR.

To help pass those long summer days, and hopefully get the Catamount faithful a little more excited about the upcoming season, and knowledgeable of the team members, we'll continue the football countdown each day until kickoff day.

Today we highlight two players assigned to #12 , one on defense and one on offense

Position: Cornerback
Height: 5-10
Weight: 160
Class: Redshirt Freshman
Hometown: Miami, Fla.
High School: Christopher Columbus HS







2022 (Freshman): Did not see game action ... Recorded a pass breakup in WCU's annual Spring Game.

Prior to Western Carolina:
Credited with 64 total tackles including 44 solo stops according to MaxPreps … Posted three interceptions as a prep … Caught 10 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns as a part of 547 all-purpose yards … Listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com and a two-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Position: Quarterback
Height: 5-10
Weight: 175
Class: Redshirt Sophomore
Hometown Fort: Lauderdale, Fla.
High School: Cardinal Gibbons HS






2022 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in two games on the year, making his collegiate debut in the home win over Presbyterian (Sept. 17) … Completed 4-of-6 passes for 33 yards and a touchdown, adding four rushes for 53 total yards … Finished 2-for-3 for 24 yards including a 20-yard touchdown pass to running back Corey Reddick, adding 41 rushing yards including a career-long 30-yard romp against the Blue Hose … Was 2-for-3 passing for nine yards with 12 rushing yards at Samford (Sept. 24) … Threw for 159 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-17 passing in WCU’s annual Spring Game.

2021 (Freshman): Did not see game action, taking a redshirt.

Prior to Western Carolina
: Dual-threat quarterback … Led Cardinal Gibbons High to two Florida Class 4A state championships, the first after taking over as the back-up in 2018 … Completed 107-of-158 passes for 1,242 yards and 17 touchdowns in just eight games as a senior … Added 41 rushes for 263 yards and two scores on the ground … Completed 29-of-33 passes for 358 yards and four touchdown passes in the 2020 state title game … High school coach was Matt DuBuc … Was a high school teammate of fellow WCU walk-on recruit, Mason Polivka.
