Today was a very good day for SoCon basketball. Five wins!
Furman and Samford pull off two excellent wins on the road today, with the Paladins walking away from the Cougars in Charleston, and Samford posting a 96-83 victory in Nashville, home of the Belmont Bruins. Mike Bothwell scored a game-high 26 points as Furman easily defeated the College of Charleston 81-57 on Saturday. While Massy Ratings only gave the Bulldogs a 14% chance of winning the game against Belmont, but the Bulldogs led by double digits most of the game.
Mercer led 42-29 over Columbia International and never looked back, finishing off with an 88-62 victory. The Citadel hit the century mark in a win over Toccoa Falls in a 100-58 final score. The Mocs hosted Northern Kentucky, as David Jean-Baptiste tied his career high with 25 points as Chattanooga beat Northern Kentucky 79-72 on Saturday.
