SoCon Basketball - Thursday, January 4th 2018



Thursday's games were the second full slate of conference games, with four games played.  No major surprises resulted out of the games, with three of the favorites picking up wide margin wins, and the Catamounts winning their second straight road game.


Thursdays games.......


Western Carolina 75 - Chattanooga 63
The Cat's Mike Amius scored a career-high 27 points to lead Western Carolina to a 75-63 victory over Chattanooga on Thursday night. Amius hit 12 of 16 shots, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.


VMI 53 - Wofford 92
Wofford's Fletcher Magee scored 25 points, hitting six 3-pointers and Trevor Stumpe scored a career-high 17 points to help Wofford beat VMI 92-53 on Thursday night.  Magee hit 9 of 11 from the field and Stumpe made 6 of 10.


The Citadel 67 - Furman 107
Furman's Devin Sibley scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Furman rolled over The Citadel 107-67 on Thursday night. The Paladins shot 54.9 percent from the field (39 of 71), including 17 of 40 from 3-point range.


ETSU 90 - Samford 72
The Buc's Desonta Bradford scored 18 points to lead ETSU to a 90-72 victory over Samford on Thursday night. Devontavius. ETSU used a 20-5 run with 15 minutes left to cruse to the victory.
