Cats lose to Furman in the Ramsey Center

Today the Catamounts lost to Furman, a team that traveled to Cullowhe with a 1-4 conference record, a team that had lost 5 of their last 6 games, and was 2-7 on away games. The Paladins lone SoCon victory prior to today, was to then last place The Citadel who is currently 4-13 on the season. With Furman's victory tonight, the Catamounts have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Of the six games the Cats have played in Cullowhee this season, the Cats are 4-2, that's a loss to a weak Kent State team and a very weak Furman team on their home court.

The Catamounts were picked in preseason, by the coaches, for a 3d place finish in the North Division, it's possible that was an overly optimistic preseason prediction for this team.

The Cats had no outside game and didn't handle the ball well. The kept trying to go baseline and got outmuscled.

Enough excuses for the Cats even though they are young they have some talent on the team they need to stop this under acheving that seems to haunt them each season. Last year they had size etc but played like they didnt care towards end of the season. I'm so sick of watching that and wish someone would kick there butts and wake them up. There not entilted to anything.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Cats. I believe they were just in a funk (pre-Toccoa Falls). The loss to Davidson isn't as bad as it seems. Losing by 20 wasn't in the books, but a little more effort would have been appreciated. The Furman game was just a flat out awful performance. We turned the ball over on too many possessions, got out rebounded, and couldn't throw a basketball in the ocean standing on the beach. But here's the thing: They still almost won. This team is no doubt one of the best in the SOCON they just have to work harder.
