WCU Center for Community Wellness and Health Innovation

The building will be the first privately developed facility on WCU’s 344-acre Millennial Campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina, and part of the university’s Millennial Initiative.

In addition to being a medical office building, the space will offer a health retail component, flexible research space, and house clinics and services linked to WCU programs that offer collaborations between healthcare partners in the region and WCU faculty and students. As a Community Engaged University, WCU seeks to create and enhance economic development in the region and facilitate the development of a highly skilled, community oriented health workforce.

The project is currently in the schematic design phase and is scheduled for completion in January 2017.

27 Days 'till Kickoff - #27 Tyson Dickson

It's now 27 days until kickoff of Catamount football against the Mars Hill University Lions in E.J.Whitmire Stadium on September 5th in Cullowhee.

To help pass those long summer days until football season officially starts, and to hopefully get the Catamount faithful more excited about the upcoming season, we'll continue the 100 day football countdown each day until kickoff day arrives.

Utilizing the 2015 Preseason Football Roster, #27 is assigned to Tyson Dickson

2014 (Sophomore): Played in six of the team’s 12 games with four starts at linebacker … Missed six games – four at mid-season and the final two of the year – due to injury … Recorded 44 tackles in six games with 17 solo stops and 3.0 tackles for loss … Posted double-digit tackles twice including 10 against Brevard (Sept. 6) and a career-high 16 against The Citadel (Oct. 25) … Averaged 7.3 tackles per game over the six outings in which he saw action … Forced a fumble against Chattanooga (Nov. 1) and broke-up two passes.

2013 (Freshman): Saw action in 11 of WCU's 12 games on the season, missing the Auburn game ... Finished with 23 total tackles on the season including 14 solo stops and one tackle for loss and a pass break-up ... Tallied a then career-high six tackles including five solo stops against ACC-foe, Virginia Tech ... Posted his first career tackle for loss against Furman.

Prior to Western Carolina: Played in 22 games as a two-year varsity letter winner at Cedar Grove High ... As a senior, finished third on the team with 88 total tackles including 55 solo stops and seven tackles for loss ... Credited with two quarterback sacks ... Had 31 tackles during his junior season with 21 solo hits.

2014 (Freshman): Redshirted ... Playing for the Purple squad, caught two passes for 41 yards and what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in WCU's annual Spring Game.

Prior to Western Carolina: A versatile athlete who played quarterback, running back, wide receiver and cornerback in high school ... Earned All-County honors as a wide receiver after recording 812 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns as a senior ... Played in the 2014 National Underclassmen Combine (NUC) All-South Senior Game, catching a game-high five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown ... Named the West Offensive MVP in the NUC All-Star game ... Named Mr. Crystal River High ... Also played basketball as a prep ... High school coach was Nate Varnadore.

Personal: Is the son of Tesha and Kareem Harris ... Has legally changed his last name to "Swain."
