Home Opener Fireworks

Western Carolina football opens its 2015 schedule by hosting mountain neighbor, Mars Hill, on Saturday, Sept. 5 at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field.

That Saturday has been dubbed Military Appreciation Day with a special post-game fireworks extravaganza presented by Ingles and radio partners 99.9 Kiss Country and Star 104.3.  Kickoff time for the season-opener is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Senior infielder Bradley Strong was selected on the third day of the 2015 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Chicago White Sox with the 832nd overall pick in the 28th round on Wednesday afternoon.

Bob's has now gone the way of Memorial Stadium, The Townhouse Restaurant, Joyner Building, Dotson Cafeteria, and Leatherwood & Helder Dormitory as only a memory for those lucky enough to have utilized those facilities.
