"It's a dream come true. I've wanted this job since I got into coaching and I waited a long time for it and I worked as hard as I could while I waited," said Alan Beck. "Those coaches who have been here before me, it's an incredible list. You'd be hard to find a better list anywhere."
Alan Beck was introduced as the 11th head baseball coach in Western Carolina history by one of his former teammates, athletic director Alex Gary. Both played for the Catamounts in the early 2000s, with Beck earning all-conference honors three times and SoCon Player of the Year in 2003.
