The Cats travel to Greenville for the opening day of the 2021 SoCon Baseball Tournament on Thursday. As the 4th place seed, they will face the number one seed, the Wofford Terriers at Fluor Field.

The Series: The Cats are 72-25 overall against Wofford. The Terriers won both series played this season, however, the Cats won the third game of each series to prevent the sweep.
The winner of the first game will move on to face the winner of No. 2 Samford (32-22, 20-10) and No. 3 Mercer (35-20, 18-9), who play on Thursday, May 27, at 7 p.m.

The Catamounts enter the tournament on a four-game winning streak and earned their appearance in the tournament with a three-game sweep over The Citadel in the regular-season series finale. Wofford and Western Carolina, Red Division rivals, met twice during the regular season, with Wofford winning both series.
Wofford took two of three from Mercer last week to secure the No. 1 seed in the tournament, swept this season's final player of the week honors as designated hitter Brennen Dorighi and right-handed pitcher Elliot Carney have been named player and pitcher of the week, respectively, for all games from May 17-23.
