CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- UTC freshman Kevin Easley scored a career-high 26 points to led Chattanooga to an 83-65 victory over VMI in a Southern Conference opener for both teams on Sunday. Easley hit 10 of 15 shots to help the Mocs win their conference opener for the fifth time in six seasons. The last time Chattanooga opened SoCon play against VMU was during the 1980-81 season and the Mocs went on to claim their first regular-season and tournament titles.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Wofford's Cameron Jackson scored 24 points and Fletcher Magee added 18 points, Nate Hoover 15 for a win over Coastal Carolina 82-71 on Sunday. The Terriers hit 10 of 10 at the foul line in the final 90 seconds to secure the win. CCU's Trevion Brown led the Chanticleers with 24 points, and Zach Cuthbertson added 14. Brown made all five of his attempts from behind the 3-point arc and is credited with five assists for CCU.

NORMAL, Ala. -- Samford's Ruben Guerrero led the Bulldogs with 18 points & nine rebounds as Samford beat winless Alabama A&M 77-59 on Sunda. Guerrero made 8 of 13 attempts from the floor as the Bulldogs shot 51% for the game. Freshman Robert Allen contributed 11 points, while Josh Sharkey and Myron Gordon scored 11 and 10, respectively. Arthur Johnson led A&M with 16 points, as the Bulldogs shot made 17% from past the arc). A&M has won just three of their past 40 games over the last two seasons.
