The Series: WCU leads the all-time series with UNCA, 49-26
Under the leadership of new head coach, Scott Friedholm, the Bulldogs enter the two game, home and home, weekend series with an 18 - 26 overall record, but are only 3-13 in the Big South. UNCA is 8-14 in games played at home and are 8 - 11 in road games.
The Bulldogs have already improved on last seasons' win record. They finished 2014 with an overall record of 13-40. Asheville looks to Hunter Bryant and Tommy Houmard to lead their attack at the plate. Houmard paces the Bulldogs just with a .353 average hitting out of the three position. Just behind Houmand, Bryant is batting .335 and a team high ten home runs. The first baseman also leads the Bulldogs with 37 RBI on the season.
On the mound, the Bulldogs usually go with Joe Zayatz on Friday night followed by Jordan Fulbright on Saturday. Zayatz is 2-6 on the season with a 4.48 ERA, meanwhile, Fulbright is 4-1 with a 4.86 ERA.
