A quick look at Saturday's conference games, on the Road to Asheville.

Chattanooga 81 - The Citadel 68
Bash Wieland scored 21 points in Chattanooga's win over The Citadel on Saturday. He also grabbed five rebounds during the game. Trey Bonham contributed 12 points and five rebounds, while Sean Cusano scored 11 points. For the Bulldogs, Brody Fox was the top scorer with 21 points and two steals. Sola Adebisi added 12 points and nine rebounds to their score. John Adams also chipped in with eight points.

Overall, Chattanooga's record is now 9 wins and 6 losses, with 1 win and 1 loss in the Southern Conference. The Citadel's record stands at 5 wins and 8 losses, with 0 wins and 2 losses in conference games.


Samford 88 - Western Carolina 69
Jaden Brownell scored a whopping 23 points in Samford's big win against Western Carolina on Saturday night. He made 8 out of 11 shots, including 3 out of 5 from 3-point range, and sank 4 out of 5 free throws. Trey Fort also had a great game, scoring 18 points by making 6 out of 9 shots and hitting 3 out of 5 from 3-point range. Larry Olayinka finished with 12 points by making all 5 of his shots.

For Western, Bernard Pelote led the Catamounts with 22 points, while Cord Stansberry added 11 points and two steals. CJ Hyland also contributed with 10 points and two steals.


Furman 67 - UNCG 84
Kenyon Giles scored an impressive 25 points in UNCGs 84-67 victory over Furman on Saturday night. Giles also grabbed five rebounds for the Spartans, who now have a record of 9-6 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Conference. Ronald Polite had a great game too, making 5 of 9 shots from the field, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and sinking 5 of 7 free throws for a total of 18 points. Joryam Saizonou also contributed with 11 points, making 5 of 7 shots from the field.

For Furman, Pjay Smith Jr. was the top scorer for the Paladins with 24 points, while Cooper Bowser added nine points and Nick Anderson finished with eight points. Unfortunately for Furman, this loss put an end to their impressive six-game winning streak.


Wofford 81 - ETSU 78
In Wofford's game against ETSU, Dillon Bailey scored an impressive 18 points to help his team win 81-78 on Saturday night. Bailey made 5 out of 8 shots from the field, including 3 out of 5 from 3-point range. He also made 5 out of 6 free throws for the Terriers. Kyler Filewich also had a great game, scoring 16 points by making 7 out of 9 shots from the field. He grabbed eight rebounds and made three steals. Jackson Sivills scored 15 points by making 5 out of 8 shots, including 4 out of 7 from 3-point range.

For the Bucs, Quimari Peterson led the team with 18 points and four assists. John Buggs III added 16 points, four assists, and three steals. Jaden Seymour contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.


Mercer 70 - VMI 67
Jah Nze scored 25 points to help Mercer beat VMI 70-67 on Saturday. Nze made 8 out of 12 shots, including 5 out of 8 from 3-point range, and also made 4 out of 5 free throws for the Bears. Alex Holt had 11 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Ahmad Robinson scored 11 points.

Rickey Bradley, Jr. was the top scorer for the Keydets with 30 points and three steals. AJ Clark added 12 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals, and Augustinas Kiudulas had nine points and six rebounds. Tyler Johnson made two free throws with 2 seconds left to secure the win for Mercer. VMI's Rickey Bradley Jr. missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
