Winners in five of six in the month of December, Wofford opened up conference play with a win on its home court against VMI. Picked to finish eight in the preseason polls by both the coaches and media, the Terriers are curranty 8-6 in the season, and won their opening Southern Conference game vs. VMI in Spartanburg by a final score of 87-85 in overtime.
Wofford is led by the returning trio of Corey Tripp, Jackson Sivills and Kyler
Filewich. The combo appeared in all 33 games last season, but only Corey
Tripp started in more than 20 games while Kyler Filewich made his first start
for the Terriers against Brevard.
Five Terriers have averaged double figure scoring over the month led by junior
Corey Tripp with 15. 2 ppg, followed by juniors Dillon Bailey at 14.5, Jackson
Sivills’ 13.8, Kyler Filewich at 12.2 and freshman Jeremy Lorenz with 10 ppg. Filewich led Wofford in rebounding with an 11.3 rebound per game average
and grabbed double digits rebounds in five of six December games while
Sivills found his stroke from three- shooting 50% from the arc (14-for-28).
