A recap of Tuesday's games... The SoCon went 1-3 Tuesday night, with only the Spartans picking up a lone win. VMI, Furman, and The Citadel fell to non-conference foes.
VMI 61 - American University 69
Furman 73 - NC State 92
Terquavion Smith scored 24 points, Casey Morsell added 17 points and North Carolina State forced a season-high 20 turnovers in a 92-73 victory over Furman on Tuesday night. Morsell scored 12 points in the opening eight minutes, making 3 of 4 3-pointers, to help N.C. State build a 26-10 lead. The Wolfpack led 48-29 at the break after shooting 52% from the field and scoring 15 points off 14 Furman turnovers. Smith led the way with 14 points for the Wolfpack.
Marshall 67 - UNCG 75
Keyshaun Langley had 18 points in UNC Greensboro's 75-67 victory over Marshall on Tuesday night. Langley shot 7 for 13, including 4 for 7 from beyond the arc for the Spartans (5-6). Keondre Kennedy scored 14 points while going 5 of 11 (2 for 5 from distance), and added seven rebounds. Bas Leyte recorded 10 points and was 4 of 9 shooting and 2 of 3 from the free-throw line.
The Citadel 67 - North Carolina 100
Sophomore Jackson Price tied his career-high with 15 points and six rebounds to lead The Citadel in a 100-67 setback at North Carolina Tuesday evening inside the Dean Smith Center. The Bulldogs got on the board first as they moved the ball around on the opening possession and Elijah Morgan knocked down the three-pointer from the top of the key. The Tar Heels used their size down low to open a nine-point lead. The Bulldogs responded with a pair of three-pointers from Jackson Price and a deep triple from Austin Ash to pull within 26-23 with just over eight minutes to play in the first half.
