Chattanooga 65 - Georgia 72
Despite leading for nearly 35 minutes, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team suffered its second-straight defeat after falling 72-65 on the road to SEC-foe Georgia inside the Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday afternoon in Athens, Ga. Following the loss, Chattanooga concludes its non-conference stretch with an 8-5 record. Georgia improves to 9-3 overall and 7-0 at home this season after the victory. Chattanooga took a 33-30 lead into halftime after opening the game with an early 14-6 lead behind a lethal three-point attack. The Mocs held the lead all the way until 9:23 left in the contest before Georgia finished the game on a 17-5 run.

Mercer 82 - Troy 79
For the first time this season, Troy falls in Trojan Arena, 82-79, to Mercer after falling short in the closing minutes on Wednesday evening. A two-game win streak is snapped for the Trojans as their non-conference schedule ends at 8-5. The Bears (7-6) secure their first win at Troy since 1999 to conclude back-to-back wins.
Samford 56 - Belmont 79
The Samford Men's Basketball team wrapped up its nonconference slate with a 79-56 setback at Belmont University on Wednesday evening. 11 Bruins scored as the hosts forced 17 turnovers and scored 40 points in the paint. Five of Samford's six losses coming in had been by one possession or overtime, so a fiercely-contested game against one of the Southern Conference favorites was anticipated. Belmont shot 59 percent (31-for-53) from the field – including 8-for-13 from 3-point distance in the second half.

ETSU 68 - LSU 72
For the second straight year, ETSU was looking to head into Christmas with a road win versus a Southeastern Conference foe, but this time around the Buccaneers couldn’t unwrap an early gift. A year removed from taking down Georgia in Athens, ETSU men’s basketball had a chance to win at LSU for the second time in four seasons. Down by two with the ball and 18.9 seconds remaining, Jordan King missed a jumper and the Tigers iced the game with a pair of free throws in the closing seconds, as the Bucs dropped another close contest with a 72-68 decision Wednesday night inside LSU's Maravich Center.
