Purple & Gold's "Catamount Player of the Game" for the Charleston Southern game on September 23rd in Cullowhee is sophomore quarterback Cole Gonzales.
The Catamount Player of the Game, Cole Gonzales completed 14 of 16 passes for 299 yards, and five first-half touchdown passes to four different receivers. Cole had no interceptions or sacks in the game, leading the Catamounts to a 77-21 win over Charleston Southern.
"But it was the play of quarterback Cole Gonzales that was among the most impressive highlights for the Catamount offense. The second-year Ocala, Fla., product opened the game with a perfect 12-for-12 passing with five going for scores before his first incompletion late in the first half. Gonzales finished an efficient 14-of-16 for 299 yards as one of three signal-callers to play on Saturday."
