Western Carolina at Charleston
A late push by the Cougars proved to be the difference as Charleston won a heart-breaker, 57-56 at home. An 11-0 run by the Cougars late in the second half erased a nine-point Catamount lead, Back-to-back 3-pointers by Marquise Pointer gave the Cougars a 54-53 lead with 1:17 to play. Mike Brown answered with a layup to retake the lead for the Cats, but Charleston retook the lead at 57-56. The Cats had a chance with five seconds to play but Torrion Brummit was unable to get off a shot as a very physical defensive block by the Cougars' James Bourne caused him to lose the ball underneath the basket and no call was made as time expired.

Alabama State vs. Chattanooga 
The Moc's Tre' McLean scored 18 points to lead Chattanooga to a 95-58 win over Alabama State in the Emerald Coast Classic on Friday. Justin Tuoyo added 12 points, while Casey Jones put up 11 for Chattanooga.  The Mofs shot 68 percent from the field and hit 13 of 23 three pointers. Chattanooga led 38-22 at the break and then pulled away throughout the second half.


Furman vs. Mount St. Mary's
In the Battle 4 Atlantis Furman made 10 straight free throws, to hold off Mount St. Mary's, 69-60. Chris Wray pulled Mount St. Mary's even at 56-56 with two free throws at the 3:50 mark. Furman's John Davis III started the closing run by hitting both free throws with 3:23 left and Croone hit four-straight to make it 62-56 with under a minute left.


Mercer vs. Appalachian State
Mercer's Phillip Leonard scored the Bears final seven points, rallying them from a 67-62 deficit with three minutes to play at the Challenge in Music City tournament. App State's Ronshad Shabazz hit a 3-pointer with :41 left to give the Mountaineers a 70-67 lead, but Leonard made two layups in the final :15.


Navy at UNCG
Navy's Tilman Dunbar scored 16 points as they defeated UNCG 70-66 Friday night.  Dunbar made all six of his free throws and Kendall Knorr added two from the line to preserve the win. Francis Alonso came off the bench for the Spartans and shot 5 for 7 from 3-point range. Marvin Smith and Baldwin each had 11 points in the Spartans losing effort.


Bob Jones at The Citadel
The Bulldog's Quinton Marshall scored a career-high 26 points as The Citadel rolled over Bob Jones 121-81 in Palmetto State Shootout. The Bulldogs led by only three after at halftime and easily pulled away with a 15-2 run in the second half. Bob Jones got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.
