Catamount faithful more excited about the upcoming season, and
knowledgeable of the team members, we'll continue the football countdown each
day until kickoff day.
Today we will highlight two players that will wear #27 - one on offense, one on defense:
#27 Joshua Collins

Prior to Western Carolina: Ran for 2,834 yards on 429 carries over three varsity seasons at Swain, posting 23 career touchdowns including 17 as a senior … Rushed for his single-season career-best 1,743 yards as a prep senior … Added 17 career catches for 276 yards and three scores out of the backfield … Averaged 101.7 all-purpose yards per game over his final three seasons that included 172.5 all-purpose yards per game as a senior … As a two-way player, added 213 career tackles including 87 as a junior with 26 total tackles for loss including 3.5 sacks.

Prior to Western Carolina: Came to WCU during the summer of 2024 … Originally signed with the University of South Florida out of high school, but did not attend; High School: Played cornerback/safety and wide receiver as a prep, earning second-team Georgia Region 4-AAAAA and All-County plaudits … Participated in the Georgia Elite Classic where he was named a top performer for the week … Caught 22 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns in his career … Also competed in track & field as a prep, winning the GHSA 5-A state championship in the long jump as an 11th grader, posting a season-best leap of 23-4.25 at sectionals … Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals.
