WCU Player of the Game vs. ETSU (Woolbright)

Update: Vonterius Woolbright gets his second career triple-double in Western Carolina's 80-66 win at ETSU. 20 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists. The fifth in WCU history, the 20th in D1 this season. The assist stat was changed following the game, per WCU sports information.




Purple & Gold's Catamount "Player of the Game" for the ETSU Bucs basketball game on January 10, in Freedom Hall, Johnson City, Tennessee is senior guard Vonterius Woolbright.  



Vonterius Woolbright tallied an 
NCAA-leading thirteenth double-double of the season (and eight straight), with 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Catamounts to a road win with a 80-66 victory over the ETSU Buccaneers in the Freedom Hall where the Bucs were 6-0 this season.

Woolbright hit 5 of 18 field goals and went 8 for 12 at the charity stripe. Woolbright's rebounds consisted of 9 defensive rebounds and 4 offensive rebounds to a total of 13. He 2 steals and made 9 assists, just one short of a triple-double.  

Honorable mention goes to Tre Jackson who scored 20 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. Tre was 4 of 9 from beyond the arc.
