Not a good day for the SoCon, with three scheduled games, the SoCon ended up 1-2 dropping two road games, on the Road to Asheville.
Penn State-New Kensington, 65 - VMI 82
VMI picked up the lone win over Penn State-New Kensington, a member of the USCAA, 82-65. VMI outrebounded the Nittany Lions 46-26, led by sophomore Taeshaud Jackson II with 14. Junior guard Brennan Watkins grabbed a career-high eight boards, all on the defensive end. Tyran Cook paced VMI with 17 points, while Jackson and Watkins each scored 15. Jackson earned his eighth career double-double by posting 15 points to go with 14 rebounds on the day.
Chattanooga 83 - Milwaukee 85 (OT)
In one of the day's two losses, the Mocs lost in overtime to Milwaukee Panthers of the Horizon League by two points, 83-85. The Panthers' Erik Pratt scored 29 points and Kentrell Pullian added 26 points in Milwaukee's win in overtime on Friday. Chattanooga forward Tyler Millin made a contested 3-pointer with 8.9 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 72-all. The Mocs took their first lead of the game with 1:29 left in overtime. Pullian made two free throws in the closing seconds for an 85-82 lead. Honor Huff missed the second of two free throws, but Milwaukee secured the rebound to win it.
ETSU 65 - Utah State 80
In the second loss, the Utah State Aggies of the Mountain West conference downed the Bucs by a final score of 65-80. Utah State run its win streak to 11, led by Darius Brown II's 19 points. Brown also contributed eight assists, and Great Osobor scored 15 points while going 3 of 7 and 9 of 14 from the free throw line. ETSU's Jaden Seymour finished with a game-high 30 points and nine rebounds, just missing a double-double, for the Buccaneers. Quimari Peterson added 20 points, four assists, and two steals in the loss.
