Head Coach: Ed Conroy, a previous head coach of the Bulldogs from 2006-10, returned for the 2022-23 season. He was announced as the 31st head coach by Director of Athletics Mike Capaccio on March 23, 2022.

The Series: The Cats own a 45-40 overall record vs. the Bulldogs in a series that started in 1977, The Cats are 26-15 in games played in Cullowhee, but have won 6 of the last 10 games played overall. Last season the two teams split, each winning their home game and the Bulldogs won in Charleston earlier this month.  

The Cats are looking to avenge a 61-65 road loss to the Bulldogs back on the 14th in the South Carolina low country. The game promotion is Suits & Sneakers / Lace Up for Pediatric Cancer.

The Bulldogs were picked by both the coaches and media to finish in 9th place this season in preseason voting and they come into this game winning 2 of the last 4 conference games.  The Bulldogs are 3-7 in away games. In addition to their WCU win, the Bulldogs also have a win over Chattanooga and VMI.  The Bulldogs are currently tied for 6th place in conference standings with Wofford and Chattanooga.

The Citadel is currently last in SoCon standing in scoring offense, putting up 68.9 points per game (ppg) and they hold the 9th position in scoring defense, allowing 74.4 ppg. The Citadel does still lead the SoCon in free-throw percentage, making a team average of 72.2% of their free throws. 

The Bulldogs have two players averaging double-digit scoring, with senior forward Stephen Clark leading the scoring with 16.9 ppg, followed by a grad student, guard Austin Ash with 15 ppg. The leading rebounder for the Citadel is also Stephen Clark with 6.7 rebounds per game.
