Game #24 - VMI Keydets

After the Catamount's big win over ETSU in Cullowhee, they travel to Lexington, VA to face VMI in a short turnaround game scheduled for Friday.  WCU has finished the seasonal series with three SoCon foes: The Citadel, Samford, and ETSU before its first meeting against the next two opponents on the schedule, VMI on Friday and UNCG on Monday.

Head Coach: Dan Earl heads into his seventh season directing the VMI basketball program on the heels of the most successful year of his tenure.

VMI's record:13-10 overall, 7-2 home, 5-7 away, 3-0 neutral, 1-1 SoCon

The Series: The Cats lead the series 36-28 overall. The Keydets have won 5 of the last 7 games the two teams have played, but the Cats did win last February in a game played in Cullowhee. The two teams are tied up 15-15 in games played in Lexington, VA,

VMI basketball team utilized a 16-3 run at the end of the game to defeat host UNCG by a 76-65 count Wednesday night at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Currently, VMI is the top-scoring team in the SoCon (79.2 ppg), the Keydets rely heavily on 3-pointers, ranking second in the country in 3-point field goals per game with 12.4 made.  VMI is 7-2 at Cameron Hall this season.
