VMI's 2020 record:  5-11 overall, 4-4 home, 0-6 away, 0-3 SoCon

Head coach Dan Earl is in his 4th season with the Keydets and is fielding a young team in 2020. Through the first 15 games of the season, the Keydets are getting 47% of their scoring from four true freshmen, with guard Travis Evee leading the team with a 12.7 ppg average followed by Camdyn Curfman with 11.8 ppg, Louis Tang at 5.8 ppg, and Sean Conway at 5.1 ppg. The Keydets are a very good three-point shooting team, currently averaging 11.6 threes per game.

The Keydets come into this game on a four-game slide, as well as three losses in conference play. VMI is coming off a 3 point loss at home to Samford, despite a career-high of 22 points and a season-best 10 rebounds from senior guard Garrett Gilkeson. Currently, the Keydets are averaging 73.7 points per game, but are giving up 78.9 ppg. VMI ranks third in the conference in three-point shooting, hitting 37.9% of their attempts, but again, they are last in the conference in defending the three-point shot.
