22 Days Until WCU Basketball Tip-off (at Georgia)


Welcome to the 2019 WCU basketball tip-off countdown.

We will count down the remaining days until WCU basketball tips off at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA on November 5th. In this season's countdown, we will meet the coaches and team members as we countdown. We will highlight the Seniors first, then Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen in that order.

2019-20 (Senior): Carlos Dotson was named to the 2019-20 Preseason All-Southern Conference Team.

2018-19 (Junior): Third Team All-SoCon Selection...Led the Catamounts in scoring with 13.9 points per game and rebounding with 9.5 rebounds per game...Ranked among the top 50 nationally in double-doubles, rebounds per game, field goal percentage and offensive rebounds per game...Scored a season-high 27 points on three occasions, including in the SoCon Tournament First Round against VMI...Named to Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team...Finished in double figures in scoring in 23 games with three games over 20 points...Was the top WCU rebounder in 21 games including 15 games with double figures in rebounds...Tallied 13 double-doubles with nine double-doubles occurring in SoCon contests.

Prior to Western Carolina: Junior transfer from Central Florida Community College who has two seasons of eligibility remaining at WCU ... Began his collegiate career at Anderson University, playing in four games back in 2015-16 where he averaged 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds per game ... Transferring to Central Florida, the strong post played in 32 games in 2016-17 for the Patriots, averaging 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game on 60.3-percent shooting from the field ... Posted 22 double-digit scoring games with 20-or-more points four times including a season-best 33 points against Santa Fe ... Pulled down double-digit rebounds nine times including eight-or-more in 13 games, charting 13 double-doubles ...Selected to play in the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game played in Las Vegas, Nev., in mid-May 2018, scoring eight points on 3-of-6 shooting in just over 15 minutes of court time;

High School: Originally from Riverdale, Md., played prep basketball at Dorman High in Spartanburg, S.C., where he was a two-time all-region, as well as first-team all-area and earned an all-state selection ... As a senior, he helped guide the Cavaliers to a 20-5 record, averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds per game, capturing a spot on the North-South All-Star game roster where he scored 14 points – three in the closing moments to send the game into overtime.
