LEXINGTON, Va. -- UNCG's Francis Alonso made a 3-pointer with 51 seconds left to break a tie and UNC Greensboro remained undefeated in Southern Conference play, defeating VMI 71-68 on Saturday.


Samford - 69
Western Carolina - 76
CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Western's Onno Steger scored a career-high 23 points as the Cats picked up their first conference win, beating Samford 76-69 on Saturday. Steger was 9 of 14 from the field including five from distance for the Catamounts (4-13, 1/3 Southern Conference). Kameron Gibson added 20 points and five assists, Carlos Dotson had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Matt Halvorsen had 10 points.



Chattanooga - 70
ETSU  - 96
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- ETSU's Tray Boyd III came off the bench to hit four 3-pointers and score 19 points as the Bucs shot 61 percent from the floor and cruised to a 96-70 victory over Chattanooga on Saturday in Johnson City.



The Citadel - 85
Furman  - 101
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Matt Rafferty scored a career-high 28 points as the Paladins rolled past The Citadel 101-85 on Saturday, handing the Bulldogs their third straight loss.


Mercer 
Wofford 
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Wofford's Fletcher Magee passed Stephen Curry for the SoCon record of career 3-pointers with a key jumper late in the game, helping Wofford beat Mercer 78-74 on Saturday night. Magee had three crucial 3-pointers in the final six minutes. His record-breaker (415) was the last, making it 76-72 with 38 seconds to go.
