SoCon Basketball - Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018

It was not a good night for SoCon basketball on Wednesday night.  Of the three games on the schedule, only UNCG ended up in the win column.

Only one out-of-conference game is on the schedule for Thursday.


Tuesday's game results -  

Chattanooga - 88
Georgia State - 95
ATLANTA, GA - Georgia State's D’Marcus Simonds scored a game-high 24 points as Georgia State topped Chattanooga 95-88 Wednesday at the GSU Sports Arena. Simonds finished 8-of-11 from the floor with six rebounds and five assists, while the Panthers shot 57.7 percent from the floor and 10-of-23 from 3-point range. Chattanooga saw its three-game winning streak snapped despite five players in double figures led by David Jean-Baptiste who scored 19 points and dished out six assists.


Coppin State - 54
UNCG -  77
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- UNCG's Kaleb Hunter and Eric Hamilton each scored 17 points as the Spartans rolled to a 77-54 victory over Coppin State on Wednesday night. UNCG extended their home winning streak to 14 games. Hunter made all six of his field goals including three from long range and both free throws, and Hamilton was 11 of 15 from the free-throw line. Francis Alonso made four 3s and finished with 16 points and now has scored at least 15 points a game this season. Isaiah Miller added 12 points. Dejuan Clayton scored 11 points to lead Coppin State (0-12).

Presbyterian  - 103
The Presbyterian hit a season-high 18 three-pointers and shot over 62% in their 103-70 win over VMI in non-conference action Wednesday evening in Clinton, S.C. Opening the game, VMI stormed out of the gates to open a 12-0 lead with a 17-5 run, aided by eight from Tyler Creammer.PC opened the second half on an 11-4 run to take its largest lead of the game, a 28-point margin, 65-37. Capitalizing on hot shooting, PC kept the margin over 20 the entire second half.
