SoCon Basketball - Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017



The SoCon had a good day, winning 3 of 5 scheduled games on Sunday.  With a sweep of the Mountain Invitational, the SoCon put up a 2-0 record vs. the Big South.


Western Carolina 76 - Asheville 72
Freshman Marcus Thomas scored a career and game-high 21 points while junior Mike Amius put up 19 points as the Cats held off Asheville in the night-cap of the Mountain Invitational held at the US Celluar Center in Asheville.

Wofford 70 - High Point 57
Fletcher Magee scored a game-high 27 points, making six from beyond the arc, and hitting 7 of 7 free throws to lead the Terriers past the High Point Panthers in the opening game of the Mountain Invitational. As a team, the Terriers hit 9 three-pointers and made 15 of 18 free throw attempts. 

Furman 90 - UNCW 84
Devin Sibley scored 24 points to lead the Paladins to a 90-84 win over the Seahawks in Wilmington. Furman hit 13 of 26 three-pointers and made 15 of 25 free throw attempts.

Chattanooga 76 - Tennessee Tech 82
Aleksa Jugovic scored 21 points to led Tenn Tech to a 76-82 victory over visiting Chattanooga Saturday. 

Mercer 85 - La Salle 95
La Salle pulled out to a 49-29 first-half lead over the Bears, then held on in the second half to defeat Mercer. The Bear's Ria'n Holland scored a game-high 33 points for the Bears, hitting 10 of 19 field goals and went 7 of 7 from the free throw line.
