The Defensive Player of the Game is A. J. Newman
Junior transfer Joshua Gibson assumed the kicking duties for injured Will Horton and completed 4 field goals (a long of 43 yards), along with two extra points. "Gibson, who received the game ball in the post-game locker room, had field goals of 22, 40, 38 and 43 yards for the Catamounts, splitting the uprights four times in a game - the most by a WCU kicker since Chris Vought did so back in 2002."
On the defensive side of the ball, senior linebacker A.J. Newman led the Cats in tackles, as he completed a career-high 12 tackles, 6 solo, one sack, one tackle for a loss.
