It's now 82 days until the kickoff of Catamount football on September 2, 2017, in Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii - home of the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.
To help pass those long summer days until football season starts, and hopefully get the Catamount faithful more excited about the upcoming season, we'll continue the 100-day football countdown each day until kickoff.
Today we'll highlight tight end....

2015 (Junior): Appeared in 10 of the team's 11 games with eight starts at tight end ... Suffered a broken arm at Texas A&M (Nov. 14) that forced him to miss the regular season finale at VMI and sidelined him much of spring drills ... Finished fourth on the team in both receptions (31) and receiving yards (385), averaging 12.4 yards per catch ... Was tied for second on the team with three receiving TDs ... Posted receptions in all but one game he played ... Opened the year with back-to-back, five-catch outings against Mars Hill (Sept. 5) and at The Citadel (Sept. 12) ... Caught a career-best six passes for a career-high 102 yards in the win against Samford (Oct. 24) ... Collected first team All-Southern Conference honors from both the league's head coaches and voting media.
2014 (Sophomore): Saw action in all 12 of the team’s games with three starts at tight end … Caught eight passes for a career-best 93 yards on the season with three receiving touchdowns … Hauled in his first career touchdown on a 31-yard strike over the middle at Presbyterian (Oct. 4) … Also recorded scores against The Citadel (Oct. 25) and VMI (Nov. 15) at home … Playing for the Purple squad, caught two passes for eight yards in WCU’s annual Spring Game.
2013 (Freshman): Played in eight games with two appearances among the starting lineup ... Made his collegiate debut at ACC-foe, Virginia Tech, before starting the final two games of the season against Furman and at Appalachian State ... Recorded four receptions for a career-high 91 yards on the season, all coming in the season-finale at Appalachian State ... Tallied a career-long reception of 28 yards against the Mountaineers ... Hauled in a 49-yard catch over the middle to spur the game-winning drive for the Gold Squad in WCU's annual Spring Game.
Prior to Western Carolina: Played both tight end and defensive end for head coach - and former Catamount - Brett Chappell ... Was a two-time All-Western North Carolina Athletic Conference selection as a junior and senior ... Named a Times-News All-Area selection ... As a senior, caught 35 passes for 779 yards and 18 touchdowns, a school record for a tight end ... Also credited with 35 tackles on defense ... Named the TE MVP as a junior at the National Underclassmen combine ... Also played basketball as a prep.
